FLORIDA

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has issued an emergency order 400385-24 directing all insurance companies to provide support to insureds in Florida.

To comply with the order and ensure that our insureds are protected during this difficult time, ProAssurance is temporarily postponing all cancellations and non-renewals in Florida counties listed below until November 26, 2024. With regard to claims reporting or documentation, it is suggested any new claim be reported as soon as you are reasonably able to do so. Note that the Department may extend this moratorium beyond November 26, 2024.

NORTH CAROLINA

The North Carolina Department of Insurance has issued an emergency order Number 24-B-13 directing all insurance companies to provide support to insureds in North Carolina.

To comply with the order and ensure that our insureds are protected during this difficult time, ProAssurance is temporarily postponing all cancellations and non-renewals in North Carolina counties listed below until November 29, 2024. With regard to claims reporting or documentation, it is suggested any new claim be reported as soon as you are reasonably able to do so. Note that the Department may extend this moratorium beyond November 29, 2024.

Affected North Carolina Counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey, and the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians of North Carolina

TENNESSEE

The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance issued Bulletin 24-03 that will remain in effect through November 26, 2024 as a result of severe weather and flooding.

To comply with the order and ensure that our insureds are protected during this difficult time, ProAssurance is temporarily postponing all cancellations and non-renewals in Tennessee until November 26, 2024. With regard to claims reporting or documentation, it is suggested any new claim be reported as soon as you are reasonably able to do so. Note that the Department may extend this moratorium beyond November 26, 2024.

The Georgia Office of the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner issued Directive 24-EX-6 that will remain in effect until further notice following Hurricane Helene.

To comply with the order and ensure that our insureds are protected during this difficult time, ProAssurance is temporarily postponing all cancellations and non-renewals in Georgia counties listed below until further notice. With regard to claims reporting or documentation, it is suggested any new claim be reported as soon as you are reasonably able to do so. Note that the Commissioner has not yet issued an end date for the moratorium.

SOUTH CAROLINA

The South Carolina Department of Insurance issued Bulletin 2024-12 that will remain in effect until further notice following Hurricane Helene.

To comply with the order and ensure that our insureds are protected during this difficult time, ProAssurance is providing additional time before a cancellation and non-renewal becomes effective for a directly affected policyholder in South Carolina when requested. With regard to claims reporting or documentation, it is suggested any new claim be reported as soon as you are reasonably able to do so. Note that the Department has not yet issued an end date for the moratorium.
