The presentation covers how strong patient safety practices reduce liability exposure, while weak patient safety practices increase the risk of harm and the chances of being sued. Real deposition excerpts will be used to demonstrate how failures, such as poor documentation and communication, can negatively impact patient safety and lead to litigation. Risk reduction strategies will be provided based on lessons learned from an actual deposition taken in a medical malpractice lawsuit.
